PokéPark Kanto: A Brand-New Pokémon Adventure Coming to Tokyo in 2026

Pokémon fans will soon have a brand-new reason to visit Tokyo. In early 2026, PokéPark Kanto, an immersive Pokémon-themed attraction, is set to open and bring the world of Pokémon to life like never before. Designed as a real-world Trainer experience, the park will feature more than 600 Pokémon spread across a large outdoor setting.

Much like the popular Pokémon With You Train, PokéPark Kanto is expected to become a bucket-list destination for fans of all ages. Here’s everything currently known about this highly anticipated attraction.

An Outdoor Pokémon World You Can Explore

PokéPark Kanto is being developed as a permanent outdoor theme park, allowing visitors to experience Pokémon encounters in a natural, open environment rather than traditional indoor attractions. Guests will be encouraged to explore freely, discover Pokémon roaming around, and interact with fellow Trainers throughout the park.

According to the official preview, the park will be divided into two main areas: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town, each offering a different style of experience.

Pokémon Forest: Discover Pokémon in the Wild

Pokémon Forest will serve as the park’s nature-focused zone. This expansive area is designed with winding trails, hills, tunnels, and lush greenery, creating the feeling of a true wilderness.

As visitors walk through the forest, Pokémon from the Kanto region and beyond may appear in unexpected places. Some might be playing, battling, sharing berries, or hiding among rocks and plants. The goal of this area is simple: observe Pokémon as if they were living in their natural habitat.

Sedge Town: Where Trainers and Pokémon Connect

In contrast, Sedge Town acts as the park’s central hub and social gathering space. This lively area is where Trainers can meet Pokémon, interact with other visitors, and enjoy themed attractions.

Planned features include a Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, Poké Gym, a Trainers’ Market, and a colorful Pokémon parade. One of the town’s key landmarks will be the Primarina Fountain, designed as a meeting point for guests. Two additional attractions are also expected to be revealed closer to opening.

Park Size and Scale

PokéPark Kanto is expected to cover approximately 280,000 square feet, making it comparable in size to attractions like Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan or the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Odaiba.

Location: Where PokéPark Kanto Will Be Built

The park will be located within Yomiuriland, a long-established amusement park in western Tokyo’s suburbs. Yomiuriland first opened in 1964 and is known for its roller coasters, seasonal events, water park, and scenic gondola ride called the Sky Shuttle.

Getting to PokéPark Kanto

PokéPark Kanto will be accessible via Yomiuriland in Inagi City, western Tokyo. From Shinjuku Station, travel time is estimated at 45 minutes to one hour, while visitors coming from Tokyo Station should expect an additional 15 minutes.

Once the park opens, guests will be able to follow on-site signs and guidance to reach the new Pokémon-themed area.

Opening Date and Ticket Information

PokéPark Kanto is scheduled to open in spring 2026, with ticket reservations expected to begin in fall 2025. Visitors planning a future trip are advised to monitor the official website for announcements, ticket details, and updated information.

Other Pokémon Experiences in Tokyo

In the meantime, Pokémon fans visiting Tokyo can still enjoy several official attractions. The city is home to multiple Pokémon Centers, including popular locations at Sunshine City and Nihonbashi Takashimaya, offering exclusive merchandise.

Tokyo also features an official Pokémon Café, located just a five-minute walk from JR Tokyo Station’s Yaesu North Exit. The café serves Pokémon-themed meals and drinks, complete with adorable latte art featuring beloved characters.
